A Summary of the Starfish Enterprise Trust

It has three main charitable purposes: the advancement of education, the advancement of the Christian faith and the relief from distress of those in need. It also has the ability, as a fourth purpose, to carry out whatever other charitable purposes the trustees may think fit.

So, it can take under its “umbrella”, a very broad range of activities and groups – always provided they conform to the above purposes. It does not have a vision or mission statement of its own, since it is there to facilitate and enable the groups and activities that belong to it rather doing things itself. Belonging is, of course, the free choice of the management team of a group or activity.

It will be the legal entity that takes responsibility for any contracts that need to be entered into on behalf of its member groups or activities, hence it will be the tenant of any premises and, eventually, the employer of any paid staff.
